Project title
A well for the Sirarou primary schoolLocation
Municipality of Sirarou, Borgou Department, Benin
Starting point
The project is located in the center of the Borgou department, 35 km from Parakou, in northern Benin.
Pastoral children, aged 9 to 18, drive oxen for grazing instead of going to school. The FVPT initially thought to literate them simply in French. But given the intelligence and enthusiasm of children for studies, the literacy structure gradually became a formal school. Children do not have access to drinking water, especially between December and June. They drink from infected sources, which degrades their health and affects their ability to attend classes. Many suffer from stomachaches and diarrhea.
About the project
It involved equipping the primary school with a large-diameter drinking water well.
